1000 seconds is 16 minutes 40 seconds. At this length, the test isn’t about speed at all. It’s about comfort, rhythm and focus. Average clickers who finish usually land somewhere between 3 and 5 CPS, which is between 3,000 and 5,000 clicks.

How to survive 1000 seconds

  1. Go slow from the start. Choose a pace that feels easy, about half your 10-second speed.
  2. Rotate the work. Every mouse button counts. Alternate index and middle fingers, or left and right buttons, every minute or two.
  3. Keep your posture neutral. Wrist straight, forearm supported, shoulders down. Small posture problems turn into pain after ten minutes.
  4. Distract yourself. Some people listen to music with a steady beat and click along to it. It keeps the rhythm even and the time passes faster.
  5. Hydrate and breathe. It sounds silly for a click test, but you’ll notice the difference at minute 12.

Should you do this?

If you have any history of wrist, hand or forearm pain, skip this test. Long, repetitive clicking is a common trigger for strain injuries. If you try it, stop as soon as something hurts. Your score stays saved in your history, and you can always try again another day.

Frequently asked questions

Can I leave the tab while the 1000 second test runs?

The timer keeps running in the background, but clicks only count while you're clicking on the test area. Switching tabs effectively pauses your clicking, not the clock.
